1. Could you share a little about the inspiration behind Creative Weddings:

My goal was to offer couples an option of a high-end wedding planner that is affordable and also a planner that works with them from the moment they enquire so they feel a connection through the whole process. It is such a personal journey and it's really important to feel fully supported.

2. Is it possible to have a beautiful wedding in Byron Bay on a budget?

It depends on what budget but mostly yes; you just have to be clever on how you distribute the budget. I always recommend right at the beginning to write down the most important elements to each of you as this list will help ground you through the process. It is so important to do your research at the beginning and get quotes to see if you vision is achievable.

3. Best venue is Byron Bay for an Elopement or Micro Wedding?

Most venues in the region offer elopements, but some amazing options that come to mind are: Byron View Farm, Temple Farmhouse, Orchard Estate, Earth House and Figtree Restaurant.

4. Your meme game is strong! Do you come up with these on your own, or do you have a marketing team?

I don't have a marketing team but I do have some key people that send me some meme inspiration. A lot of what I post is already circulating on the internet, but I just like to start everyone's day with a laugh.

5. How to find the perfect suppliers?!

I would recommend starting off by stalking the venues you like on social media and see which suppliers have been tagged in a lot of their posts. This means they know the venue well, but they also work with a lot of other incredible suppliers in the industry. Word of mouth is the best recommendation!

6. Looking to get married in Byron Bay but wanting a fresh new venue that not many people have seen. What would be your recommendation?

This is a hard one because venues in the region need to get council approval to host weddings, so there's not a huge number of fresh venues that people haven't seen. In saying that, there are some new venues that are in the process of getting their DA approval, so watch this space!

7. The planning process can be overwhelming. Can you outline the major steps you guide couples through to ensure a seamless and stress-free wedding planning journey?

Get a wedding planner! ;) There's no doubt that couples can plan their own wedding, but you don't know what you don't know and having a professional in your corner to guide you through the process is worth its weight in gold! If couples don't have the budget and your venue doesn't require you to have a planner, then there are some key points to know.

I know I have said this but work out your budget right from the beginning. Do your research and get quotes so you get a rough idea on costs for each supplier involved. When you are getting quotes, speak to each vendor to see if your budget will achieve your expectations, Coming into wedding planning with a good idea of what you can achieve will reduce stress through the process.

Keep quiet about your wedding details with family & friends. This will avoid conflict and upset where the more opinionated people in your circle are concerned, as well as those prone to fretting.

8. Details can truly elevate a wedding. Could you give us a couple of examples of small, often overlooked, details that can make a big difference in creating a great wedding atmosphere?

Statement pieces can really elevate a wedding - Backdrops for bridal tables, entrance arrangements and neon signs. Entertainment for your guests also creates a great wedding atmosphere. Think about how you want your guests to feel during the cocktail hour which will set the tone for your reception. Get creative with your ideas and think outside the box. This way your wedding will be remembered as unique and fun.

Tip: I recommend if you are working with a budget for florals, then don't stretch your budget so there are florals on every surface. Whatever you do, just do it well, otherwise it can look like an afterthought or that you ran out of money, For the cocktail styling, instead of having florals for each coffee table & high bar, just go with one amazing bar arrangement that can be a statement piece.

9.Weather can be unpredictable, especially for outdoor weddings. How do you help couples prepare for potential weather-related challenges and ensure their wedding day goes smoothly, rain or shine?

Have a solid back up plan from the beginning. Usually couples look at the weather closer to the day and then stress if the weather isn't on their side. If you have a good plan that you are comfortable with from the start, then it will alleviate the stress closer to the day, Ensure that your venue has a wet weather plan and hire clear umbrellas for your bridal photos & for your guests.

10. For couples who are just starting their wedding planning journey, what are your top three pieces of advice to help them make the most of their experience and create a truly memorable Byron Bay wedding?

1. Hire a dream team that you can fully trust. These suppliers will have your back and will move heaven and earth to pull off the perfect day.

2. Incorporate personal touches that reflect your personalities and experiences together. Your wedding is about the two of you, rather than replicating what someone else has done.

3. Don't overlook the ceremony just to get it over and done with, if you are nervous about being in front of everyone or if you feel that it's not as important to you. The ceremony is what makes it a wedding. Hire an incredible celebrant that will be able to tell your story. Celebrants can make or break the day as they set the tone for the rest of how the day is going to be. Not at any of my weddings, but I have personally attended weddings and have seen some shocker celebrants that really ruin the vibe.

At Happy Days Weddings, my motto is, “No stress, all enjoyment – best day of your life kinda vibe!”

Don’t let yourself have a “shocker” of a ceremony and let me help you plan the best wedding ceremony ever!
